Letter Writing Skills - Sample Letter of Complaint

To whom it may concern:

On June 6, 2008, one of my employees, Robert Kelly, attended your class, "Technical Skills for Operations Personnel" in Los Angeles. Mr. Kelly told me that he was very disappointed in the overall quality of the course.

He indicated that the actual content did not cover all of the concepts that are shown in your flyer. For example, the flyer listed several topics having to do with gaining an understanding of the concepts of project management. However, less than 30 minutes were spent covering this important topic. Additionally, Mr. Kelly felt that the instructor’s knowledge was not adequate to deal with several of the the technical questions that came up during the class, having to do with project management, as well as data center operations.

We believe that the course did not deliver any benefit to offset the time Mr. Kelly spent away from his normal duties. Therefore, I am requesting that we be entitled to a refund of the $900 registration fee. I have attached a copy of our registration form and our cancelled check. I expect the refund by the end of this month.
