Terrible Interview - Letter Asking for Reconsideration

[Today's date - written and sent the same day as the interview]

Mr. Cecil Snodgrass
MidCom Corporation
1271 Venice Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90017

Dear Mr. Snodgrass:

I wanted to thank you for your time and patience today as I blundered my way through the interview. I am so disappointed with how I responded and wish I could turn back the hands of time...but I can't.

This position is an incredible opportunity and I blew it. Ironically, I was able to answer your questions perfectly in my drive back from your office. While I should have been focused, I was nervous.

Your time is valuable and I feel I wasted it. That will not happen again if you reconsider me. I have much more to offer than I revealed. I humbly request one more interview, one more chance to tell you how I can do the job. I promise to do 100% better on my responses. I have a tremendous respect for MidCom and want to be part of the company.

Should you decide that it might be in the company's best interest to give me a second chance, you may reach me at (222) 123-4567. I will drop everything to be there at your convenience.

Sincerely,

James R. Smith
